Orange cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 14 oz cauliflower

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1 egg (skip for vegan recipe)


Sauce:

  • Orange zest

  • 1/2 orange juice

  • 1/2 tsp minced ginger

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp corn flour

  • Salt to taste

Steps

Prepare

  1. Mince 3 garlic cloves

  2. Separates the cauliflower floret and stem, break and cut  into bite-sized pieces

  3. Place the cauliflower in a      large bowl, put flour, salt and pepper and 1 egg over cauliflower and mix to coat      cauliflower (You can pre-mix the flour, salt and pepper and egg mixture, but      it is not really necessary, because cauliflower only need a light      coat of flour, no need to coat too much flour (Skip eggs for vegan      recipe, substitute 1-2 tablespoons plain water)


Making

  1. Place cauliflower in an      air fryer, and spread 2 tablespoons of oil evenly over the entire      cauliflower (or you can use oil spray). Shake several times to spread the oil evenly      throughout the cauliflower in the fryer. Fry at 350F (180C) for 15 minutes

  2. Put skillet on the stove to prepare the      sauce     (don't turn on heat yet), add: 1 tbsp grated orange zest, 1/2 tsp grated ginger,      minced garlic, juice of half an orange, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar      or lemon juice (do not use lime because it will be bitter), 2 tsp soy sauce, 2 tsp cornstarch, salt to      taste. Stir mixture, check taste according to likeness (a bit lighter than      your taste is good enough because when the sauce is thicken, so the taste      will be more dense).

  3. Stir to combine the      sauce ingredients while turn on the stove on low heat. When the sauce starts to boil and lightly thicken. At this      time, immediately add the air fried cauliflower to the skillet. Stir well to coat      the sauce evenly all over cauliflower. Turn of heat then it's done. You can eat with rice or eat it alone is also very      delicious. Bon Appétit.
